Join Two Washers Into One Drain

Both washers are about 5 years old.

Join two washers into one drain.

Trying to wedge two waste hoses into a single drain doesn t seem like a good idea so i was wondering how i can best join the two waste hoses together. The soil stack currently has a toilet small sink and 1 1 5 inch drain from the washing machine separately connected. One automatic clothes washer per standpipe. Here is my question.

I have always wanted to have a second washer hooked up to make washing that much faster. The dishwasher which is drained to the disposal never has problems but the other sometimes gets water coming back into it. We recently got a kenmore washer from friends who upgraded. The thing is that there s only one waste pipe and that s already used by the washing machine.

Had a new home we did about 4 years ago where there was a single drain sink with a dishwasher on each side. We have had our maytag washer and dryer hooked up for many years in our basement without any problems. So you can probably wye into the 3 horizontal drain line as long as you aren t exceeding the dfus for that pipe but don t connect to the existing standpipe. I just ran long pipes along the wall with hookups for each washer 4 machines hooked up at a time 3 that stay in place 4th position for rotation machine drain is handled the same way with pvc pipe the 4 outlets are on one 15a circuit but 2 of the stay machines have electronic driven motors and pull far less current than the old skool washers with motors run straight off the line and i have.

I have 5 machines running into one drain tub and sometimes 2 or 3 do all pump in at one time as long as your drain line is clear there should not be an issue in the pic is johns warehouse which is a great place to visit thank you john and on the left you can see the pipe running along the wall with risers and several hoses in each one. The plumber hooked one up to the disposal and one to the branch tail piece. Would extending the 1 1 2 inch drain to an additional washing machine cope if both washing machines did actually drain at the same time.
