Don t install tackless strips across thresholds or doorways.
A good way to determine that is to place your fingers between the wall and the piece of tack strip.
Cut the tackless strips to size with a strip cutter or heavy snips.
Keep the tool s shoe pressed tightly against the carpeting and keep the carpet tight against the baseboard as you guide it along the wall.
Cut lengths of tackless strip to fit each wall around the perimeter of the room.
Installing carpet can be hard on your knees and back and you should be prepared to take some time to get the job done.
Clean and prep the floor.
Secure them with the pre driven nails into the subfloor keeping the strip out from the wall about 2 3 the thickness of the carpet.
