Install welded wire fence t post.

It is a special weighted pipe that slides up and down on the top section of a t post forcing the post into the ground. Once the roll is attached carefully unroll and stretch the wire to the next post. Simply lift the tool and let go gravity and the weight of the tool will work to drive the t post in. The standard tried and true metal t posts are the most commonly used but if you would like something more attractive than the green metal posts or are using the fence to enclose livestock and want to use electric fencing there are better options.

Welded wire is generally made of material that will not rust rot or burn. Staple mesh to post and top rail with a helper unroll enough mesh to reach from end post to end post. Each post should be driven into the ground until the flared fins are beneath the surface. Most welded wire fence is installed using t posts but not all t posts are created equal.

Tips for installing a residential welded wire fence. Installation a welded wire fence is a quick and easy way to keep dogs and kids in the yards. Align the end of the mesh with the edge of the post and attach it to the post with fence staples. Pull the fence taut.

The fence should be on the outside of all the posts. Including stretching attaching and combining. To prevent sagging staple the mesh to the top rail every 3 inches temporarily leaving the bottom unattached. Attach the fencing to the first corner t post beginning at the top.

Install welded wire fence. Wrap a wire clip around the back of the t post place the ends of the clip around the wire on either side of the post and squeeze the ends of the wire clip to make tight fits around the fencing. You should space your posts 8 12 feet apart as a general rule although 10 12 feet apart is sufficient for 5 6 wire barbed fence. Use the baling wire or metal ties to tie the wire to the post at the top the middle and the bottom.

Studs should face either inward or outward depending on whether it s more important to keep livestock in or predators out. Tie the wire to the pole. Starting at a corner attach the end of your roll of welded wire.
