Install Fence Into Concrete

Two 50 pound bags of fast setting concrete will set a 4 inch by 4 inch or a 4 inch diameter post in a 10 inch diameter hole 2 feet deep.

Spend some extra time and money on durable lumber and a well drained installation or that beautiful aesthetic will rot in a few years. Galvanized post works well for supporting wood fence or a 1 5 8 or 2 post for vinyl. Builders use metal post brackets to anchor fence posts onto existing concrete slabs. Pour the dry mix into the tube.

Drill into the concrete. Place the form tube into the hole. Once it s in the correct position pull the trigger while applying pressure on the back of the drill. Put your drill into hammer mode by flipping the switch on the side of the tool.

As before this will require drilling into the concrete and setting a round chain link style 2 or 2 1 2 o d. Unlike the case with standard installations anchoring fences to slabs doesn t require digging post holes or mixing concrete. We suggest using either an hf20 or hf40 grade post for this application. Tamped soil on a base of gravel is enough to secure most posts but consider concrete for soft soils.
